Wow, another week has gone by already! My days never cease to be busy. Seems like there's always SO much to get done and not enough time!! I can't even remember what we did every day, all I know is that they were all very full. I've been working up at Dad's office for the business. (just a few days a week)The days that I'm home, I spend most of the day studying...either Spanish, Bible college or memorizing Psalm 119 with Sarah. I was able to finish my college for this quarter!! With the Lord's help I was able to get ahead of schedule by 3 weeks!! (I switched to a more advanced degree). So, I've had to do alot of cramming to get this far ahead. :)
Plus keep up with everything else! The days that I'm home I normally spend a few extra hrs doing college,to make up for the days that I'm working with Brady or working @ the office for Dad. Last week, I spent some long nights typing it all out so I could send it in this week. I'm excited to get it sent in so I can receive the next quarter and start it back up again!! Although I have to say that it will be nice to have a few weeks break!! We have so many other things going on the next few weeks and I know that it would have been hard to keep up on college too! (Praise the Lord that He knows what I need and when I need it)!!
The past few weeks since being in MI the Lord has really made some things clear to me. I've been observing alot of things, just watching to see what God is going to do!
My eyes have really been opened at the need of the young people out in the world....and the churches! It's so sad to see so many people walking around with no hope, nothing to live for and no joy. Since we travel so much, we obviously go to alot of new churches.(let me tell you, this makes me SO grateful for the privilege that we have when we're in NY to go to OPBBC)!! By going to these churches, it's been shown so much more evident that the young people don't have a passion for the Lord. I'm sure that some do, but the majority don't show Christ to be an important role in their lives. (so sad) Some of the Pastor's preach good messages, but because the people aren't taking it to heart, there's no change. I've heard so many stories about people and know many, who once claimed to be a conservative Christian. Now they are living in the world and aren't ashamed of it. There's no difference at all from the life of a "Christian" who is living like the world and the person sitting right by them. All I can say is, if you look like, act like and listen to the same things that's in the world. You had better think twice about where you're standing before God. I believe that the Lord is greived to see how so many people go to church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Just to turn around and live like the world every other day of the week. I'm realizing more and more that we are the minority....not too many people are willing to take a stand for the Lord and be "different" from everyone else. All I know is that the Lord called us to be a "peculiar" people, set apart unto the Lord. This gives me all the more reason to want my life to be a good testimony! By God's grace, I pray that He will be glorified in me, and that I would be a blessing to all who I may come in contact with!!
This is what the Lord has been showing me...I hope that it's a blessing to someone else too! For all of you who are "Pressing On"...keep it up, it's so worth the joy that comes with living for the Lord!! I know that we're all human and will fail many times. But by making an effort and God's grace, "We will stand with the holy ones"!!
Looking forward to what God has in store for our lives!!

You are so encouraging, Susanna! I'm so glad to hear of what the Lord has been teaching you!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your college work... that's one thing I really miss! I can't wait to get back home and plunge back in... while being here, I've realized how much more Bible I need to know and how there's no time to waste. :)
Keep on! :) Sounds to me like God is doing a lot of "growing" you!
Oh yes - Psalm 119. I'm still managing to keep up! :) I'm glad to know that you are too - I pray the Lord blesses every minute you spend meditating in His word!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the encouraging post! It was great to hear from you! I agree with you on what you said about other churches and it is sad to say that out of the hundreds of churches I have been in so many are like that. I am thankful for OPBBC too. Thanks for the encouragement to keep on Pressing On... Love you!
